keep getting calls from ths number. on the occasions i have answered it is silent and then rings, followed by someone asking for me by name. I asked who it was but connection was so bad it sounded like a big squawk. i did hear the word electricity though. they are very persistant!
I have the number call me three times and kept missing it. Same thing, called back and non stop busy.
Yeah. I have been getting a call last 2 weeks. They never leave a message and when I call back I get the engaged signal. So I SMS'd the phone number because I am pretty sure we can SMS land lines in AU. They should get a phone message waiting for them when their phone frees up. I basically told them to stop calling if they dont want to leave a message.
I finally saved the number to my phone as "Do Not Answer". Then it called again, so being male, I answered the "Do Not Call" number and it is BIGPOND!!!
Received call from this number 03 8416 1400 today, but missed call. Tried repeatedly to call back, but constantly engaged. Do not know who it is, but believe it is not someone I have given the number to, but rather some entity which has access to it. Missed earlier call, but no called ID on that one.
I mentioned to them all the issues and they are looking into it.

These rang me yesterday - asked for mrs Neave - I asked them which mrs neave they wanted as one lives in bristol, one has recently got married and moved with her hubby and I'm the only other mrs neave who was at the house - all I wanted was a first name so I could direct them - the guy said "oh okay" and hung up without asking for which mrs neave he wanted.
Was called recently from this number - easily checkable by dialling 1471. Most worryingly of all is that the Indian male voice asked for me by my name. I asked who he was, was told Health & Wellness Centre Kent, I said I don't know you and banged down the phone. Have received other phone calls from Indian males, a previous occasion it was supposed to be some kind of "financial service" etc. These nuisance callers are easily recognised because immediately they go into the "American-style friendly spiel" of trying to ask "how are you?". That's a dead give away, so immediately you hear that slam the phone down. Spread the word to all you know about these nuisance and threatening people.
I ring them back and get an unitelligible answer machine message - I leave a message saying if it's something genuine then please call back (could be something to do with mum's church friends)- if they're selling something I'm not interested.
My phone system gave them the unobtainable tone both occasions as the line they rung is not currently in use and the only time the number has *ever* been used in July was known to just THREE family members! Random dialler? No idea what they were selling if anything. Haven't rung back since.
They ring again this morning asking for a mrs NeaLe, not mrs NeaVe. I say to him "I spoke to you yesterday. Firstly it's not Neale it's Neave and secondly...." the guy hangs up on me.
I try to ring them back to get to the bottom of it - no one picks up and no answer machine.

Just about fed up with receiving calls from this number. Everyday and most
times no-one is there. Even if they spoke to me I wouldn't conduct business with them. I am telling as many people as possible what company owns this number and avoid them. I am on the TPS and never entertain unsolicited calls so how did they get hold of my number? I guess somewhere along the line I haven't ticked, or unticked a box, when I purchased something, you know under the terms and conditions, and no doubt my number has been sold on as someone likely to buy something!!!!! Wrong I buy when I'm ready and from whom I want to, not someone who writes or rings me!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. However, their website was not working and when I phoned, the representative couldn't tell me how they got my number. I asked to speak to someone who could help me, and the representative hung up on me. I called my bank (RBC) to report all of this. The bank's representative got me through to someone who could answer a few more questions. But it's still a shady business but not quite illegal. I was sure to get a reference number for my cancellation. The second representative of "Privacyplus" to whom I spoke admitted that they were having technical difficulties with their website - certainly doesn't make it easy to cancel a service!I just called and cancelled my credit card no time to wait if they will cancell they put the red flags up and this is to me is a fraud. I didn't speak to anyone about cancell membership because I couldn't get through?This happens somehow when trying to get a credit report online. It happened to me last year and again this year. I did NOT sign up for this account yet they somehow weasel their way in. Just call the number and cancel, they seem to be use to it.You'll have to go through a long auto directory, but just get to someone and tell them you have no idea what they do, you never signed up the the alleged account you have with them, you and want a full refund of everything they have charged you.
So when you call this number back, what information do I need on hand in order for them to cancel my 'membership' which I don't even have? Do you just give your mailing address and name and they will be able to do it? Anything else I might need to have on hand for when I call?
You may also want to call you credit card company and ask for a new card.
This is totally a scam. I've also reported the scam to the Quebec police as, according to their website, they are based within Quebec and urge you all to do the same.

I received a call telling that my computer has a virus and it will crush in the next few days. When i asked the person on the phone how he got my number he told the domaine server of the compagny gave it to him. Phone numbers are only 10 digits long and in principle, a robot can be used to call every possible 10-digit phone number. If you have a phone, anyone can call your number and someone has. Same thing happened to me. Called us at 7:20 AM today (Saturday) to report that one of my computers was emitting bad signals and needed to be fixed right away. My mom woke me up in a panic. I called them back and requested to speak with "Caroline Ross". "No one here by that name", I was told. I'm like what's the deal? I told them I'm an IT professional and deal with this sort of stuff on a daily basis. I also told them I secure all my systems from security exploits. That was enough to shut them up. Scammers. I bet they are trying to make a quick buck from people falling for their scam.

There saying the police are coming to get me cause I supposlly didnt pay back an online payday. I havent taking out a payday loan. He says his name is Richard Brown(eastren man voice). yayaya what a ecam
Do not answer his call as he will tell you you got problems with your computer and will tell you to enter some codes to help you and then will intrude in your system and get some passwords etc... BE Careful!

This call is originated from California and do you still expect an American will fix a Canadians computer for free??

They did the same thing to me. I didn't answer the phone but they left a threatening voice mail and repeated the last 5 of my SSN number. Said that my SSN number was under investigation and that he was part of this department. Obvious, dumb scam.
I just got a call from 510-943-3040 - I was told that my computer had a number of files that were corrupted and he was going to help me sort this out. When I asked who was calling he replied that he was from Windows - I then asked how he got my phone number and was I going to be interested in the next thing he had to say!!! He hung up on me. I just get concerned about seniors who are scammed by someone like this. I would love to know how to stop these calls and besides I am on a "do not call list"
